The area located between Santa Ponsa and Port Adriano is known as Nova Santa Ponsa. Santa Ponsa Golf Club is located on the Santa Ponsa Urbanization, about 30-45 minutes drive from the international airport and 15 minutes from Palma de Mallorca. There are two 18-hole and one 9-hole golf course (Golf Santa Ponsa I, II and III).
Santa Ponsa I: Designed by Folco Nardi with assistance from Pepe Gancedo, Golf Santa Ponsa I covers an area of 73 hectares. Santa Ponsa I is one of Mallorca's busiest courses, because many national and international tournaments take place here.
Santa Ponsa II: A 6,053 m, par 72 course. The 18th hole is especially interesting, being located on an island in the shape of the island of Mallorca. Santa Ponsa II also offers opportunities to learn golf on a training course 350 m long, with tees in both directions of more than 100 m, a putting green and a golf school.
Santa Ponsa III: This 9-hole course was inaugurated in January 1999. It has a length of 1,599 m for men and 1,332 m for ladies, both par 30, with three par 4 holes and six par 3s. It is an ideal course for beginners and players who love a short, precise game.
For the boat lovers, the Santa Ponsa Yacht Club is one of the island's most elegant and at the same time most discreet seaports. Unlike many ports it is a quiet place, perfect for families. The Santa Ponsa Yacht Club was built in 1975 in a natural cove called Sa Caleta. This is where, in September 11th 1229 that King Jaime I 'the Conqueror' initiated the conquest of the Balearic islands, which were then under Islamic rule. The Yacht Club offers berths for more than 522 boats of lengths between 7 and 22 m. Cafes, restaurants, a diving school and specialized shops are just a few of the facilities offered by the Yacht Club.
Also nearby is Port Adriano, currently under expansion, with its sandy beach and numerous fine restaurants. The expansion plans comprise additional moorings and a Philippe Starck designed commercial area which will bring 40 additional restaurants, shops and boutiques to the port, due for completion in summer 2011.
